I was born in Frankfurt in 1961. I am a professional graduate chemical engineer.
In 1991 I started my professional career at former “Lurgi Energy and Environmental Technology”
and was engaged at that time in different processes for flue gas cleaning.
In 2008 I changed my employment to the sulphuric acid department at Outotec GmbH, i.e.
I remained engaged with the production of sulphuric acid, but dealing with acid of higher
concentrations.
I had my first contact with the SULFACID process at the end of 1991 during commissioning of a
plant.
Prior to my change to Outotec I carried out commissions in the design, construction and start-up of every plant built since
the day I began my employment with Lurgi, including the world’s biggest plant in South Africa which was expanded in 2008
from 8 to 12 reactors (the total basic design for that project was undertaken by me in its entirety).
In addition, I was responsible for process optimisation, plant inspection and erection supervision. Furthermore (since 1998)
I provided studies, operated pilot plants at different locations and was responsible for After Sales Services as a technology
manager.
